Sydney Sudmals

Sydney Sudmals is a passionate and ambitious Performer from Toronto, Ontario. Her passion for performing began at the age of 4 when she started dancing and that passion has only continued to grow.

Sydney trained as a versatile competitive dancer for 13 years in various styles including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acro, Hip-hop, Musical Theatre, Pointe, and Modern. Her love for all aspects of performing grew when she had the opportunity to be a part of the Stratford Festival Musical Theatre Intensive in her high school years. In this program Sydney trained with industry professionals such as Stephen Cota, Eric Charbonneau, and Jason Sermonia in dance, singing, and acting. Sydney attended Claude Watson School for the Arts where she completed a dance major and a drama minor in high school. She is also a graduate of the Musical Theatre Performance Program at St. Lawrence College. During her time at St.Lawrence College she was in a production of Cats the musical (Dance Captain, Mistoffelees) directed by Christy Adamson, Going Under (Dylan) directed by David Connolly, and Pippin (Dance Captain, Ensemble) directed by Julie Tomaino. She also had the opportunity to participate in many workshops including a Voice-over workshop with Jay T. Schramek, Fight and Intimacy Workshop (Siobhan Richardson), Cats Makeup Training (Dawn Rivard).

As a dancer, Sydney has performed and trained in many cities around the world including Paris, Barcelona, as a part of the Paris and Barcelona Dance Tour. She has had the opportunity to perform pieces by many choreographers including Anisa Tejpar, Jacques Monfiston, George Absi, Lisa Auguste, and David Norsworthy to name a few. During her 13 years of competitive dance training she was awarded titles including Dancer of the Year, Most Improved, Most Potential, and multiple Scholarships.

Recently Sydney has worked for Royal Caribbean Entertainment as a Dancer/ Vocalist on Adventure of the Seas, and spent 2 seasons at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s in Dawson City, Yukon as the Dance Captain and Swing.

Sydney is passionate about honing her craft everyday, stretching beyond her comfort zones, and is so excited to continue to work hard, dream big, and achieve her goals!
