Randy Lei Chang

Randy (he/they) is a Toronto-based BroadwayWorld-nominated actor-musician/educator. He is a classically-trained and self-taught multi-instrumentalist (pianist/violinist/vocalist/guitarist).  

Randy begin formal music training at the age of 4, and has since received his Performer’s ARCT with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in piano in 2017, as well as completed his degree in Music on the violin at U of T in 2018. He is also a self-taught vocalist, with a particular affinity to pop and R&B – anything that involves vocal riffing. He moved towards acting at the end of his university program when he was asked to audition for a part in a local musical and fell in love with it! They also became involved with the Toronto dancing community during the COVID pandemic, having taken part of ballet/jazz technique courses and local popping competitions across the city. Randy found the perfect intersections of all his artistic passions on the stage, and continues to train in acting. 

When not working, Randy is an avid music educator in the Toronto community. He currently teaches piano, violin and voice. Randy also has experience leading/conducting school band and strings classes, as early music education is a big passion of his. 

Randy is a multi-faceted artist and creative always seeking out new ways to express himself and collaborate with other creatives. Randy believes that his formal training in classical music, combined with his unique approach to self-education and hi Taiwanese-Canadian background will provide a notable and honest approach to the acting craft.
