Taylor Hatala

Taylor Hatala (she/her) is an actor, dancer, choreographer and content creator with over 1.3 million followers on Instagram, 750,000 on TikTok, and 215,000 subscribers on YouTube.  A recent graduate of the Vancouver Film School, she holds a diploma in Acting for Film & Television.

Taylor began her dance journey at just three years old, training in a wide variety of styles including jazz, lyrical, tap, contemporary, ballet, popping, locking, animation, and hip hop. From a young age, she developed a deep passion for dance and was determined to turn it into a lifelong career.  Her breakthrough came at the age of 10 when a class video of her dancing to Laurence Kawaii’s choreography went viral. This moment catapulted her into the spotlight and led to her first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show—she would go on to appear on the show three more times.

Since then, Taylor has continued to work professionally as a dancer, performing throughout Los Angeles and across Canada. While she still enjoys exploring all styles of dance, her current focus is on the foundational styles of hip hop—particularly boogaloo, locking, popping, and animation. She has developed a huge appreciation for the history and roots of each style and is passionate about sharing that knowledge with her community and through her content on social media.

Taylor’s list of credits includes Netflix’s Julie and the Phantoms, HBO’s The Last of Us, Netflix’s Fuller House, and Disney+’s Prom Pact, among many others. She has performed with top artists such as Janet Jackson (on both the State of the World and Unbreakable world tours), Imagine Dragons x J.I.D., Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Ciara, Chris Brown, and more. Her appearances span major award shows including the American Music Awards, VMAs, Kids’ Choice Awards, and the BET Awards.  Her commercial work includes campaigns for Target, JC Penney, Delta Airlines, and UNICEF.  As a choreographer, Taylor’s work includes Red Velvet’s “Umpah Umpah,” VIDCON 2018, and teaching dance classes throughout North America and Singapore.

Taylor is inspired by the way her passions let her explore the world and connect with incredible people everywhere she goes. She believes the magic of her craft shines brightest when new conversations spark, understanding deepens, and love is shared freely.
