ACTRA

Born for the stage, Serena Tran (she/her) is a professional dancer based in Toronto. Born in Vancouver, BC, and raised in Hamilton, ON, she is of Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese descent.

Serena discovered her love for dance at the age of seven. With her natural talent, she flourished and trained competitively in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, contemporary, lyrical, and musical theatre. Determined to perfect her craft, she trained as a member of the hip hop crew The ARTillery, where they won back-to-back championships at World of Dance Michigan. She was also a member of Diana Matos’ MOTUS Dance Company.

Serena was one of Shawn Desman’s dancers on his recent national Back to Life tour. You can also see her in Drake’s “Nokia” music video. She has danced for artists such as Sean Paul, NLE Choppa, Jamie Fine, and Rêve, among others, and has performed on court as part of the Toronto Raptors’ NorthSide Crew.

Her passion for dance has taken her around the world. In 2024, she performed in Qatar for the AFC Asian Cup, and in 2018, she competed at the Euro Dance Cup in Spain with World Performers Canada.

But her love for performing doesn’t stop there. Serena has also landed several commercial acting roles, including campaigns for Gatorade, TSN, and RBC. Determined to be a versatile performer, she continues to evolve, striving to become the best version of herself while captivating audiences wherever she goes.
