Praveeni Rasiah is a Toronto-based actor and dancer whose work bridges film, movement, and cultural storytelling. She has over 25 years of experience in South Asian classical dance, Bharathanatyam, and further trained in street styles through Toronto’s Footnotes Academy. She brings a rare combination of classical precision, western versatility, and expressive depth to every performance.
Her dance career spans some of the industry’s biggest stages. She was a finalist on Canada’s Got Talent (2022) and has performed internationally, including touring across the United States with Indian superstar Anirudh on his Once Upon a Time Tour (2023) and in Jaffna, Sri Lanka for one of India’s biggest music composers, Santhosh Narayanan. Praveeni has appeared in multiple high-profile award shows, performing twice at the Juno Awards—first with Karan Aujla, and later alongside Jonita Gandhi for Michael Bublé’s opening act.
On stage and on screen, she has worked with celebrated global artists, performing for Queen Priyanka, Raja Kumari, Anirudh, and more. Her screen work includes starring in Tesher’s “Punjabi Kompa” music video and appearing in videos for Dhee, Santhosh Narayanan, and SVDP.
As an actor, Praveeni brings grounded emotional nuance and physical storytelling to her roles. She has held a principal role in an Audi commercial and a supporting role in a Sun Life commercial, with a growing portfolio across film, digital media, and commercial work.
Rooted in classical storytelling, Praveeni continues to build a body of work committed to authentic representation and art that moves across cultures and audiences.
