Marisa Khoo

Marisa Khoo (she/her) is a passionate and versatile artist born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. She discovered her love for dance at the age of six and most recently trained at Dynamic Dance Company, where she competed for 12 years before graduating in 2023. Her movement background spans ballet/pointe, contemporary, jazz, street styles, partnering, acrobatics, modern, ballroom, West African, and Irish dance, allowing her to move fluidly between both concert and commercial spaces. 

Throughout her competitive training, Marisa earned numerous overall titles and recognitions, including multiple First Overall awards, most notably being named National Senior Overall Winner at On The Floor’s National Dance Competition. These achievements helped cultivate her strong stage presence, discipline, and dedication to artistic excellence both in rehearsal and performance settings. 

Marisa is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Performance Dance program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she trains under the mentorship of Tanya Evidente, Louis Laberge-Côté, and Vicki St. Denys. Her recent performance credits include RISE: Fall Dances, featuring works by Louis Laberge-Côté, Lukas Malkowski, and Sekou McMiller, as well as performances in the DACO Dance Festival and UP NEXT: Signature Programme presented by Fall for Dance North. In addition to her university training, Marisa has further developed her artistry through programs including the Joffrey Ballet School Pre-Professional Jazz & Contemporary Summer Intensive in New York City and the ProArteDanza Summer Intensive Program. 

Her on-screen experience includes performances in Nadia Stone’s Revenge Mode music video, Jade Hilton’s Tears music video, and Esco’s Otra Vez featuring Bebeboy, as well as an appearance in the Osmow’s Canadian Super Bowl commercial. Marisa has also performed in Fever After DarkUnite ShowcaseStudio 6 Showcase, and Carnival Choreographer’s Ball in Los Angeles under the direction of choreographers including Jac Valiquette and Bennett Richardson. Alongside performing, she was a member of Kode Red Dance Company under the direction of Jac Valiquette and has also worked as an assistant to Ashley Coulson. 

As she continues to evolve as both a performer and creative artist, Marisa remains committed to exploring movement as a form of storytelling and connection. She is excited to continue building a dynamic career across stage, screen, and live entertainment while contributing to Toronto’s vibrant artistic community.
