David Adams

David Adams was born in the mixed race enclaves of Cape Town, South Africa. He grew up in Hampshire and Essex in England, and at age 15, emigrated with his family to Canada.

After graduating with a degree in English Literature and Theatre Arts from the University of British Columbia, his first professional theatre gig was playing Mr. Marshall in the play ‘The Little Foxes’ by Lillian Hellman at The Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver. His first role on television was playing young lawyer Lockhart in the series ‘Danger Bay’, and his first movie was ‘Little Women’ with Winona Ryder and Gabriel Byrne.

Over the past few decades, David has appeared in many locally shot TV series (X-Files, Outer Limits, Psych, Family Law), movies of the week, Hallmark movies, and mini-series. He performed in the Broadway National Tours of Show Boat, Sunset Boulevard and Phantom of the Opera, and has appeared in most Canadian regional theatres, including nine seasons at the internationally acclaimed Shaw Festival.

His voice has been heard on dozens of documentaries, commercials, radio plays and audiobooks. David also spent six seasons as the Resident Assistant Director for Vancouver Opera and directed many musicals for The Gateway Theatre, Quintessence, and Western Canada Theatre. 

He is proud to recently receive his WSET Level 2 Sommelier certificate.
