Mitchell Cotton

Non-Union

Mitchell grew up on a small hobby farm off an old country highway outside of Odessa, Ontario, before attending high school in Kingston. He competed in rugby, hockey, soccer, and baseball, which instilled confidence, discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic from an early age.

For years, he worked under the guidance of his business-savvy grandfather, the owner of a string of car dealerships, whose principals on life and determination shaped the person Mitch became. “My grandfather observed my life and love for story telling, the way I engaged with strangers and entertained them. He came to believe I should become an actor, he encouraged me to pursue the arts and helped make that journey possible.”

Not a month after that conversation, Mitch packed up and headed west, living out of his truck for almost half a year while tree planting and searching for his next chapter. That journey confirmed Mitch wanted to pursue acting with everything he had. His grandfather, the one who told him to chase his dream, paid his entire tuition for acting school. Day 1, first class, Mitch knew he had found exactly what he was searching for his entire life.

Since graduating, he has continued to chase that dream with grit, and a genuine love for storytelling. His path hasn’t been conventional, but every experience—from farm life to sleeping in his truck—has shaped the person and performer he is today.
