Amaya is a bright and fiery ball of energy who wishes to shine with others in her pursuit for having fun! She was born in Canada and is of East Indian descent; her father is Hindu and her mother is Sikh. She is 11 years old, attending the French immersion program at Beynon Fields Public School. Although she can sing and dance, her focus is acting.
Amaya had never envisioned herself in the entertainment industry until she took the stage playing the lead role of Captain Hook in Peter Pan at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. Before this she had enjoyed theatre at several summer camps. Her love for acting lead her to classes with Michelle Danner Acting Studios in Los Angeles and Armstrong Acting Studios in Toronto. To hone her performative skills, she has completed several courses at Second City in Toronto. In addition, she is involved in private classes with Michelle Cavaleri for singing and piano, as well as dancing with JCB Danceworks.
In her spare time she is an avid crime/thriller writer and comic-book creator/artist. Amaya is a fierce competitor and athlete. At the age of 3 she started gymnastics and martial arts. She has achieved success in volleyball as a York Region District School Board (YRDSB)Regional Finalist. Most recently, she won gold at the Ontario Cup U12 basketball championships and finished in the finals twice at YRDSB basketball tournaments. Her interests include Scratch coding, stop-motion animation, robotics, travelling and swimming. Her schedule is jam-packed, and she is enjoying every minute!
