Hailey Christie-Hoyle

CAEA

Hailey Christie-Hoyle (she/they) is a triple threat performer born and raised in Revelstoke, BC, now based out of Vancouver, BC. Having grown up in a small mountain town, Hailey is a lover of the outdoors and is an avid hiker, mountain biker, skier, rock climber, and water sports enthusiast! Her artistic practice is strongly inspired by her love of the natural world.

Since graduating from Sheridan College in 2022 with an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance specializing in Direction and Choreography, Hailey has worked across the country from coast to coast. She made her professional theatre debut the same year as her graduation, in Neptune Theatre’s production of Elf: The Musical, in Halifax, NS. The following Christmas, she performed in a different production of the same musical with The Arts Club Theatre Company in Vancouver, BC.

Other recent theatre credits include: Mopsa in Head Over Heels (Theatre Sheridan), Nancy in Gaslight (Vertigo Theatre), Devising Ensemble of Rebel Rhythm (Theatre SKAM), Jemima in Cats (Theatre Under the Stars).

Hailey is a versatile performer with a wide variety of skills and experience. She is an advanced dancer trained in jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, ballet, tap, acro and salsa. Her experience as a dance teacher and choreographer makes her quick to pick up choreography and good at taking direction.

As a singer, Hailey has an alto/mezzo-soprano range and specializes in pop and jazz stylings. She plays piano, guitar, ukulele and alto saxophone and loves to write her own music. She performs regularly with live bands as a singer, and as a solo artist accompanying herself. Her soulful folk-pop style is rich with r&b and jazz influences. She has also trained as a vocal coach under Dr. Shannon Coates, and specializes in teaching pop rock belting technique.

As an actor, Hailey likes to approach her work through physicality and improv. She has studied acting for film with Melee Hutton, Shakespeare with David Leyshon, and Devised Theatre with Dr. Martin Julien, as well as a variety of other acting techniques with many fabulous teachers, making her a well rounded and capable actor. Her extensive experience working with various community and semi-professional theatre companies as a director and dramaturg gives her a good eye for the big picture. She is able to see how her character fits into the story and is good at helping to direct focus. Hailey currently works as a host and interviewer for Maple Life TV Vancouver. This experience has made her a confident improviser and an engaging host.

Hailey approaches all the work she does from a place of joy and curiosity. She is committed to developing her artistry through regularly attending classes and workshops for dance, acting and music. Recently she completed Level 1 of the IDC’s Consent Forward Artist Program, and intends to continue her training in consent and intimacy direction. She finds the creative process endlessly fascinating and loves to help bring artists’ creative visions to life. She is an efficient problem solver, and a great collaborator. She sees every new project as an opportunity to learn more about herself, the world, and the people in it.
