Nick Dangeli is an interdisciplinary Indigenous artist of the Nisga’a, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Haida, Gitxsan, Tsetsaut, and Colville Nations (7Nation Nick). He’s of the G̱anhada (Raven Clan) and carries the names Tim-kyo’o’hl Hayats’kw (Backbone of the Copper Shield) and Gubba Hayetsk (New Copper). He spent his childhood on the Colville Reservation, on his maternal side in Omak, Washington. His teenage and adult years have been spent in Vancouver, BC, among Nick’s father’s people. Nick’s family taught him to be a traditional drummer, singer, dancer, and co-leader of the Git Hayetsk Dancers (People of the Copper Shield) where he has traveled all across Canada, USA and internationally to Australia.

Since 2014, Nick has worked as an actor in films, such as the award-winning feature Monkey Beach (2020), television series, commercials, voiceover, and background work. In theatre, he performed in the stage production Bunk #7. Most recently, in the summer of 2023, Nick wrapped his second role in a feature film, Sweet Summer Pow Wow (coming soon), where he had the opportunity to hone his emotional and comedic range in film.

Nick’s passion is acting and filmmaking. In 2019, he graduated from the Indigenous Digital Film Program at Capilano University. He dedicates his efforts in film directing and screenwriting to his production company, Dangeli Productions.

In addition to acting, Nick also pursues part-time fashion modelling with Supernaturals, the world’s first and only
all-Indigenous modeling agency.

In all of Nick’s work, he’s dedicated to representing his family, ancestors, communities, and nations with the utmost pride and respect.
