Emma Stephenson (she/her) is a Canadian born professional dancer, actor, aerialist and choreographer. With a diverse background in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, hip-hop, contemporary, commercial heels, and musical theater, she has traveled the world to perform. Currently based in Vancouver, BC, Emma is a frequent presence in the film and TV industry as both a dancer and choreographer. She is passionate about sharing her skills and experience with others, and teaches weekly classes at two of Vancouver’s top drop-in studios, Harbour Dance Center and Studio North. She is also the Director of “The Jazz Pop-Up”, a workshop series for dancers wanting to further their jazz training. She loves teaching at conventions and has been on faculty for Power Dance Convention, Summit Dance Challenge Convention, and RNS Dance Inc. She has also been recommended as an assistant by many renowned choreographers, including Jillian Myers, Megan Lawson, Sean Cheesman, and Tyce Dyorio.
Emma’s professional dance career began with live performances, including contracts with Royal Caribbean International as a featured dancer and aerialist. She has performed alongside many artists including Tegan & Sara, Coldplay, Sarah McLachlan and Nile Rodgers with CHIC.
Since her move to Vancouver, she has excelled in the film and TV industry, with credits on popular shows such as Riverdale (Netflix), Charmed (CW), Yellowjackets (Showtime), and The Last of Us (HBO). In addition to her work on screen, Emma has contributed to the creative process as part of skeleton crews for prestigious choreographers including Mandy Moore, Heather Laura Gray, Louise Hradsky, and Jamal Sims. She has also found a love for motion and performance capture, and is proud to have created the unique zombie movement for the creatures in the Warner Bros video game Back 4 Blood. Her latest works include dancing on Disney+ series “Goosebumps” for choreographer Moe Brody, and playing the role of Lainey in “Jingle Bell Run” (Hallmark). In addition to her work as a performer, Emma is dedicated to learning, teaching, adjudicating, and connecting with the upcoming generation of dancers.
