Emmanuela Van Allen

Emmanuela Van Allen (she/her) is an up-and-coming Toronto-based actor born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She found her passion for performing at a young age and knew from the first time she stepped on stage it was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Her hard work, determination and curiosity to learn have shaped her into the artist she is today. Emmanuela has trained in both classical and contemporary studies and has a deep love for classical text. She hopes to challenge preconceived notions about stereotypical casting in the industry for plus-size women.  

Emmanuela is a recent graduate of George Brown Theatre School, where she has had the pleasure of working with & being directed by many incredible artists like Marie Farsi, Peter Pasyk, Evan Builing, Kwaku Okyere & many more. Some notable GBTS roles include Celia in As You Like It, Veta in Harvey, Hellena in The Rover, Edna Summey in Dark Of The Moon, Amy/Clergyman in Jane Eyre, and Millicent in Munsch Garden. Additional credits include Lady Capulet in Romeo And Juliet (dir by Julia Nish-Lapidus & James Wallis), Tree #2/Ensemble in The Wizard Of Oz (dir Ruthie Nkut) with YES Theatre.  

Additionally, Emmanuela loves teaching youth theatre and leading workshops when she isn’t performing. She loves sharing her passion with future generations of artists and hopes to inspire children with the same dreams as her. When Emmanuela is not performing, you can find her roaming art galleries, listening to Olivia Rodrigo, reading, or talking about beluga whales to anyone who will listen. Emmanuela is excited to continue growing as an artist, exploring film, voiceover, and anything else she can. She can’t wait to share her love for this beautiful art form with the world.
