Non Union

Garrett Waschuk is a young, versatile, and accomplished performer whose career spans music, dance, film, and live entertainment. With a strong foundation in both vocal arts and traditional acting, Garrett has begun to build his reputation, in Canada and beyond, for delivering electrifying performances and captivating audiences on stage and screen. His commitment to his craft, and especially to the support of his colleagues, make him a great example of the new generation of artists that are emerging in the industry today.
Originally born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Garrett now calls Toronto home. He begun his arts education with four years of vocal jazz training, studying voice by way of the Estill method, earning him many achievements and accolades in his hometown. Garrett’s vocal style and stage
presence have been deeply influenced by the roots of Jazz’s improvisational and soulful qualities; over the years, however, he has expanded his skills to perform across a wide variety of genres, including R&B, pop/rock, musical theatre, and contemporary music.
In 2017, Garrett was honoured with Edmonton’s Best Male Vocalist Cappie Award, recognizing his instincts for artistry in performance. This accolade reflects his early dedication to excellence in the arts, and since then, he has been lucky to receive numerous scholarships and awards that helped him to achieve professional success as a freelance artist in Edmonton. Garrett further
honed his craft at Sheridan College, where he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance degree in 2022. His training gave him a well-rounded understanding of musical theatre, voice, and movement, helped him to grow as both a performer and an artist, and allowed him to connect with a vast network of mentors, teachers and colleagues. This group of individuals, along with the education he received, have shaped him into a multifaceted and
multidisciplinary artist with a focus on commercial music and dance.
In film, Garrett has worked with recognized and up-and-coming directors across Canada, such as Nick Maiorano and Chris Scott. His experience on stage has complimented his work on the screen, particularly in projects such as The Erlking (Scott), a short movie musical, along with a chilling dance film where he portrayed a troubled and complicated man struggling to come to
terms with his sexuality (Maiorano). He has performed for thousands of people at high-profile events, such as the Pride Toronto Mainstage and the televised state funeral of Hazel McCallion. Garrett recently completed his first international contract as a Main Vocalist for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, leading large-scale productions multiple times a week for thousands of guests and performing in demanding cabaret-style events. Additionally, he has appeared in numerous dance projects and live events in Toronto, collaborating with notable performers and choreographers and working with established organizations such as Toronto Dance Company.
Garrett is passionate about showing authenticity and vulnerability in his work, striving to inspire others in the same way his idols have inspired him. Whether performing in live events, working on a film set, or collaborating on creative projects, he brings energy, professionalism, and heart to every endeavour. When he’s not on stage, Garrett loves to travel, try out new recipes in the kitchen, and spend time with his family and friends—just enjoying the little things in life. He’s looking forward to refining his artistry and elevating all aspects of his performance through working with DaCosta.
