Griffen Grice is a Toronto based dancer and actor. He began dancing competitively at the age of 12 which ignited his passion for the performing arts. He carried this passion for performance through his young years, appearing onstage in school plays, and at dance competitions and showcases. Griffen then went on to become a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance program, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. Griffen even grew up taking vocal lessons to further hone his craft as a performer.
During his university experience Griffen has had the privilege to work with many choreographers including Jesse Obremski from Gibney Company (New York), Stephanie Lake Company (Australia), and Dailedys Carrazana (Cuba). Griffen has had the privilege to work with choreographer Guillaume Côté in his dance company Côté Danse as a dancer in the show Burn Baby, Burn, which has toured both nationally and internationally. Griffen has also been a company member with ProArte Danza, touring Ontario and performing in their fall season in Toronto. In his childhood years, Griffen has modeled for many print ads including Sears and Zellers catalogues and appeared onscreen in a commercial for Moon Dough Snack Shop by Umagine. Griffen has also had the opportunity to be a host for VIEW Dance Challenge for 5 years, which helped him become well experienced in live public speaking to large crowds. Griffen is especially passionate about the work he has done to train in acrobatics which he feels is what sets him apart from other dancers, being able to incorporate contortionism and tumbling skills seamlessly into his performances.
As a well-rounded and versatile artist, Griffen understands that the work is never done and that he can always continue to grow his craft, either by learning new skills, or by perfecting a skill he has worked on his whole life and he craves opportunities that will push him to new heights and help him reach his potential.
