Hawthorne Wilde Fowler

ACTRA | CAEA

Hawthorne Wilde Fowler is the youngest of a trio of quadruple threat siblings, who all love to dance, sing, act, and tumble. Originally from Newfoundland, he’s taking the next step in his dance training this summer at Canada’s National Ballet School, after successfully auditioning for the summer intensive, aka stage two of the Professional Ballet-Academic Program audition.

When Hawthorne had his first short film experience at age eight, the director commended his focus and professionalism, commenting that he felt Hawthorne was ready to take on feature-length roles. Hawthorne has taken that to heart and strives to show he’s always ready for his next opportunity. Hawthorne has gained a passion for on-camera acting and is hoping to expand his experience in this area. Along with appearing in a Hyundai commercial, he also played a young, imaginative and inquisitive Frank Gehry in a short film/promotion, The Boy And The Moon (Ru an) to promote what is to be the final architectural project of Gehry’s legacy. Hawthorne has also voiced the role of Wild, the leader of the Cat Pack in Paw Patrol, Season 10 (Nickelodeon).

Having a musician and a dancer as parents, musical theatre was an inevitable love for Hawthorne and his siblings, and he had his professional stage debut at age six in Our Divas Do Christmas (TaDa! Events). Upon first moving to ON and gaining an agent, Hawthorne was quickly cast in Leopoldstadt (Mirvish), however, the production was ultimately canceled due to a pandemic wave. Hawthorne landed a role in Canadian Opera Company’s Macbeth this past year, as one of the three Witch Children, making him part of a Dora Award-winning ensemble! Hawthorne has also performed in Kittiwake Theatre’s Nutcracker in the role of a Cousin, as well as understudy the lead role of Fritz.

Last year, not only was Hawthorne the youngest invited to perform in his school’s musical, he was tasked with being in charge of the tap dance choreography for the showcase. Hawthorne was honored to be a part of the Dora Award-winning ensemble of Macbeth (Canadian Opera Company), and has received multiple dance and voice awards/recognitions: 2nd Runner-Up Overall Mini Soloist (Fever Dance Competition); 1st Place Hip Hop solo and invitation to Dance World Cup (5678 Showtime); RCM Voice Gold Medal recipient (Atlantic Region); Multiple 1st place awards in Kiwanis Music Festivals.

Hawthorne loves honing his craft and skills, as well as meeting new friends and colleagues in the process. He is currently a student of the Young Dancers Program at Canada’s National Ballet School, and hopes to be accepted into their full-time Professional Ballet-Academic Program for the next academic school year (he’s successfully passed stage one, which means he’ll attend the four-week summer intensive in 2024). Other training includes: Canadian Dance Company’s Mini Competitive Company; Cygnus Gymnastics Pre-Competitive Men’s Artistic Gymnastics; Maniak’s Pre-Competitive Power Tumbling; LeBlanc School of Acting; On The Mic (voiceover training); Atlantic Community Theatre; Private voice and piano. Hawthorne also takes at-home training initiative in tap dance, through Operation Tap’s online program, featuring choreographers such as Mike Minery and Anthony Morigerato.

In his spare time, Hawthorne loves spending time playing with his friends, especially his brother, Lennox – whether it’s in person or online. His favourite games to play with his friends online are Fortnite and Roblox. When he is spending in-person time with his brother, the main events are Lego and wrestling (mom and dad are more of a fan of one than the other ;)). Hawthorne feels fortunate to have an arts-loving, supportive family and an agency who are very proud of his accomplishments and excited for those to come!
