Jasmine Whyte

Jasmine Whyte is a R&B-pop artist from St. Catharines, Ontario. As the proud niece of jazz singer-songwriter Thyron Lee Whyte, Jasmine grew up under the influence of gospel and jazz music and enjoyed being surrounded by a very musical family. From the young age of 8, Jasmine performed with her sister and grandmother in ‘The Grand Baby Trio’, singing at retirement facilities and at many events across Ontario. She further developed her creative skills by joining the jazz choir, concert choir, dance team, and drum line in school, as well as securing lead roles in multiple school musicals.

Upon graduating High School, Jasmine moved to Baltimore where she played volleyball as an NCAA Division 1 athlete at Coppin State, followed by time as a player for the Humber Hawks volleyball team. Despite her growing athletic achievements, her love for music continued to call her name, leading Jasmine to spend her free time between training to write, sing, and play guitar. This lead to her decision to enter emerging artist music competition ‘The Shot’, where she was eventually chosen as the winner of season 7.

Since then, Jasmine has released two singles, two official music videos, secured a management deal with OMEN Media Group, created and runs the ‘R House’ artist collective, and hosts open mic nights to support other emerging artists in their journeys. With a unique, deep tone and a penchant for making music that speaks to struggles, triumphs, and being comfortable in one’s own skin, Jasmine will be releasing brand new music.
