Julia Barkshire

Julia Motojima Barkshire is a Japanese-Canadian up-and-coming actor born in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  She was raised there until the age of 9, then moved to Japan with her family and spent the rest of her childhood there.  After being accepted at the Acting for Media Program at George Brown College, Julia made the bold decision to move back to Canada on her own to pursue her dreams in becoming an actor.   

During her time at GBC, Julia had the opportunity to train in various fields of acting such as film, improvisation, voice over, stage combat and motion capture.  Julia has since booked lead parts in multiple independent short films and a video game.  She has been actively taking part in acting classes at McGeachie Actors Practice, and because she especially enjoyed the stage combat classes at college, Julia continues to train at Rapier Wit to become proficient in prop weaponry and basic stunts.   

Julia is fluent in both English and Japanese, and one of the things she loves to do in her free time is learning accents and dialects from around the world, and developing different voices for animation and gaming voice over.  Julia is dedicated and versatile, being able to take directions with a positive attitude.  She is very excited to take on any opportunities and challenges headed her way.
