Justine Grimes
Non Union
Justine Grimes (she/her) recently returned from Newfoundland where she performed the roles of Waitress #1 in Rock Of Ages, and Rita La Porta in Lucky Stiff at the Stephenville Theatre Festival. Off of the stage you can hear Justine’s voice as the Tubby Phone in the Teletubbies Netflix series.
Favourite theatre roles to date include Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde, Miss Stacy in Anne of Green Gables, Kate/Lucy in Avenue Q, and Iris Kelly in Fame. Behind the scenes Justine enjoys taking on the role of Assistant Choreographer, or Dance Captain for choreographers such as Chad McNamara, Maggie Lacasse, and Adam Sergison.
Justine knew from a young age that she wanted to dance, and that passion led her to the dance program at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). After sustaining a serious injury, she was forced to make a tough decision. She chose to broaden her horizons and pursue an education in acting and voice, as well as dance. She then went on to earn a scholarship to attend Randolph College for the Performing Arts. Upon her graduation she received the Governor General’s Academic Medal for being top of her class, and was a nominee for the Triple Threat Award. Since then, her love for musical theatre has only grown stronger. Justine has taken workshops through Stratford Dance Collective, and can be found taking class at Metro Movement.
Other passions include being a musician. Justine has recently been a part of (Donna) Garner Theatre Productions ‘Jams’ as a drummer and vocalist. She also has a fondness for working as an actor on new plays and watching them come to life, whether it be a workshop or a production in a Fringe Festival.
Justine continues to look for ways to improve her multidisciplinary craft and career, and cannot wait to see what comes next!
