Kim Ramón is a youthful Toronto-based actor|singer. Having studied classical voice at Western University, her craft is rooted in character and text study. This practice was typically in foreign language, preparing art song and opera during her post secondary studies.
Kim’s start was in theatre, performing numerous roles in musicals, operas as well as plays. Since graduation, she has branched-off into voice over and film work, with such film credits as The Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council funded short film, “The Violinist”, as well as “Mama Jo”, the recipient of Best Canadian Film in the Montreal International Indie Short Film Awards. A stage highlight is her having performed ‘Papagena’ and ‘Second Spirit’ in a Lucca, Italy production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”. Her voice over highlights comprise of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s 2019 Light the Night campaign with Olympian Max Parrot, ‘Kaelli “Daughter” Entrati’ in Digital Extreme Ltd.’s “Warframe: Heart Of Deimos”, and in contrast, the recurring character of ‘Doctor Apocalypso’ in the children’s social-emotional educational podcast, “Imagine Neighbourhood”. The Toronto Fringe Festival’s response to the virtual transition found the new musical “Back and Forth” responding with “Back and Forth: In Concert”, where an unprecedented stage festival turned short film festival.
With a sincere love of performing, Kim’s explored and embedded herself in many facets that the industry has to offer in an attempt to absorb as much as she can. She’s worked as a Theatre Technician at the Markham Theatre for the Performing arts; assistant directed programs through university’s in Canada and Italy; operated surtitles for new Toronto opera, “Oksana G”, working closely with director Tom Diamond and librettist Colleen Murphy, which lead to being called-on to step-in during tech week for another Canadian premier- “The Overcoat: A Musical Tailoring”; and has expanded her professional home studio offerings to full production with SFX creation, to list just some of her behind-the-scenes highlights.
Thriving on variety, this multi-hyphenate, multi-potentialite is on a mission to paint the world creative, continuing to search for more performing opportunities in as many medias as the industry has to offer. A lover of all living things, when not performing, Kim enjoys studying film in the company of her Russian Blue and Siamese cats..
