Lisa Stevens is a highly skilled and intuitive intimacy professional with a gift for creating safe, collaborative spaces in film, television, musical theatre, and opera. With over 30 years of professional experience as an Actor, Dancer, Director, and Choreographer, she brings a natural ability to express a narrative through both physical and emotional storytelling.
An International Emmy Award nominee, Lisa has collaborated on numerous artistic projects, including Dolly Parton’s musical ”9 TO 5” (West End, UK/US Tour), “Who Do Ya Love? The KC and The Sunshine Band Musical” (under development with ATG London, UK), and Disney’s global hit “High School Musical 1 and 2.” Her choreography credits include films such as “Fear Street – Prom Queen,” “Dreaming of A Jewish Christmas,” and “The Swinging Nutcracker.”
As an Intimacy Professional, Lisa’s expertise ranges from high-profile productions like Christina Aguilera’s *“Burlesque” the musical (West End) and Atom Egoyan’s feature film “Seven Veils” with Amanda Seyfried, to independent films and proof of concepts. Her work encompasses simulated sexual content, sensitive topics involving race, violence, and cultural intimacy, as well as complex multi-person choreography. Lisa is renowned for her calm demeanor and her ability to build trust and connection with performers and crew alike.
As an educator, Lisa has taught Consent & Boundary practices for the Canadian Opera Company, the University of Waterloo, St. Lawrence College, and several youth companies across Ontario. Currently, she is a faculty member at AMDA in NYC, teaching in both the dance and acting departments, and was a speaker on Intimacy Within Dance at the World Dance Teacher’s Expo in Toronto.
