Maria Young

Maria Young is a Nova Scotian actress and model known for her expressive performances and natural screen presence. With a background in musical theatre and a passion for character work, she brings authenticity and emotional depth to every role she inhabits. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence College and Atlantic Technological University in Sligo, Ireland, earning a Bachelor of Honours degree in Performing Arts. Her work spans independent films (Monica’s News, To the Moon) television (Mr. D, Moonshine, This Hour Has 22 Minutes), and commercials, where she has portrayed a wide range of characters with nuance and heart. 
 
Born and raised just outside of Halifax, Maria has also embraced roles behind the scenes as a creative entrepreneur. In addition to her acting career, she is the co-founder of a growing business, Fireside Meadery, that reflects her artistic eye and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Her unique blend of experience in performance and business allows her to contribute meaningfully both on and off camera. 

On the horizon for Maria is the upcoming feature, Lillian, Next Door, starring alongside Oscar nominee Jane Alexander, and Shaun Majumder’s original short, Farmer’s Daughter, as the innocent and tenderhearted Chloe.
