Marisa Sherk

Marisa Sherk is a dancer, choreographer and educator born and raised in St.Catharines, Ontario. She began her dance training at the age of three and has since developed extensive versatility across a wide range of styles including jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, and modern.

Marisa is a 2025 graduate of the BFA Performance Dance Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she performed works by Raoul Wilke, Alysa Pires, Esie Mensah, Francesca Chudnoff, Hanna Kiel and Ryan Lee, further shaping her artistic voice and technical foundation.

Prior to her university training, Marisa spent eleven years as a competitive dancer and three years in a professional ballet training program. She earned numerous overall awards, scholarships, and titles at the regional, national, and international levels. Notably, she was named 1st Runner-Up for ‘America’s Female Dancer of the Year’ at the American Dance Awards Nationals in both 2021 (Boston) and 2022 (Florida). In 2021, she also placed 1st at the Youth America Grand Prix in the Pas de Deux category.

Marisa began teaching and choreographing at the age of 15 and has since developed a strong passion for mentorship and education. She has taught at the CDA In-Class Convention and the Elite Dance Challenge Jumpstart Intensive. She has also assisted world-renowned teachers and choreographers such as Gianna Martello and Shannon Atkins.

Marisa’s performance credits include lead roles in The Nutcracker and Cinderella, as well as appearances in the opening number for Canada’s Walk of Fame, Dance Ontario’s Weekend, and Toronto Kids Fashion Week. She has also danced in a commercial campaign for Deciem’s The Ordinary and performed in the immersive film, 7 Gates.
