Non-Union
Martin Egas was born in Quito, Ecuador, and from a young age, he was drawn to the arts. Encouraged by his parents to explore different creative paths, he immersed himself in visual arts, guitar, and theatre. In high school, he also discovered a strong physical drive, competing nationally in tennis and internationally in soccer. An injury eventually forced him to stop, though he now sees it as life redirecting him toward his true purpose, acting.
That realization came when Martin was fifteen, while watching The Force Awakens. It struck him that being an actor would be the most incredible job in the world, and from that moment, he knew it was his calling.
After high school, Martin moved abroad to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Marketing at the University of New Brunswick, though deep down, he always knew he was truly pursuing acting. During university, through meditation and stillness, he found clarity in his purpose and became determined to fulfill his creative potential. Acting wasn’t just a passion; it gave his life meaning.
He began dedicating every spare moment to studying the craft, taking classes at Milne Acting Studio, and developing his skills independently. In June 2025, Martin took a leap of faith and moved to Toronto to fully commit to his acting career. Within two months of auditioning unrepresented, he landed a strong supporting role in the upcoming feature film Sorority Shark Attack, directed by renowned Canadian filmmaker David Langlois and produced by Andromedia Distributions.
Martin believes that when one aligns with their true self, life becomes effortless and limitless. For him, acting is the ultimate tool to explore what it means to be human, and that’s exactly what he strives to do through his work and his journey.
