Matt Nethersole is a Juno Award-nominated, multi-disciplinary artist, host, producer, and writer. Matt established a versatile career in the performing arts, performing on some of Canada’s most prestigious stages, including The Stratford Festival and The Shaw Festival. On screen, Matt has appeared in television series for Apple TV and CBC. Currently Matt is the resident host and a lead vocalist for Queer Songbook Orchestra.
In addition to their artistic work, Matt has also held producing roles with several theater and media companies. At Crossroads Theatre (formerly Shakespeare in Action), they represented the organization on a City of Toronto subcommittee dedicated to providing free services and events to vulnerable communities in York South-Weston. As part of this work, Matt helped produce some of Toronto’s first free, COVID-safe outdoor events, including York South-Weston’s first Pride celebration.
Currently, Matt serves as Host and Producer for the TVO podcast Queries, a narrative, long-form investigative series that explores complex rights issues in Ontario and beyond. Queries places particular emphasis on the 2SLGBTQ+ community, of which Matt is a proud member.
