Megan Caines (she/her) is a dynamic and multi-faceted performer whose career spans stage, screen, and international productions. She has been featured in television and film projects such as Netflix’s Ginny and Georgia (Seasons 1 & 2), Disney’s Zombies 2 and Zombies 3, Fox’s What We Do in the Shadows, Hallmark’s Magical Christmas Ornament, Family Channel’s The Next Step, Disney Channel’s Backstage, and Degrassi. Megan also worked alongside award-winning choreographer Mia Michaels on the Netflix original Feel The Beat and was part of the skeleton crew for Let It Snow.
Her theatre credits include a season at the Stratford Festival, where she performed in The Music Man, Romeo and Juliet Remix, and The Shining People of Leonard Cohen, earning the Jean A. Chalmers Theatre Training Award. She also performed in The Illusionists, Live from Broadway, completing a 42-show run as a dancer and magician’s assistant. Internationally, Megan toured with Art on Ice, performing in Switzerland with Paloma Faith, Birdy, and Stress.
Megan’s foundation in dance and performance is rooted in her extensive training at Vlad’s Dance Company, where she refined her technique across a diverse range of styles, including ballet, pointe, jazz, acrobatics, contemporary, hip hop, ballroom, modern, freestyle, and musical theatre. Before her transition to dance, she was a nationally ranked gymnast training at Sports Seneca, earning top placements in beam, bars, floor, and vault, with aspirations for the 2016 Olympics. Her competitive dance career saw her recognized as 1st Runner-Up Senior Soloist at The Dance Awards in Florida and selected for Dancer Palooza’s Beat Squad (2017 & 2018) in Los Angeles.
Beyond performing, Megan is passionate about mentorship and education. She teaches and adjudicates across Canada at Dance Canada, CREO, iDance, Artys Dance, Impact Dance Challenge, and more. As she continues to evolve as an artist, Megan remains committed to pushing her craft forward, embracing new challenges, and sharing her artistry with the next generation.
