Michel began his career at the early age of 12 on CBC’s “It’s A Musical World”, a national musical variety series that ran for 4 seasons. Guest appearances followed for the next 3 years on various Canadian Musical series.

At age 19, Michel appeared in his first live stage production. At 24 he was cast in “A Chorus Line” which eventually brought him to Toronto and thus began his extensive theatrical career. Notably the The Music Of Andrew Lloydd Webber, a concert series in which he performed in as a soloist with a 52 piece symphony. Michel was then cast in “Phantom Of The Opera”, working for the first of three times with legendary Broadway director Harold Prince.

Harold Prince’s production of Show Boat followed both in the original cast in Toronto and the for the entire 3 year run on Broadway at the Gershwin Theater . The 1st national US tour followed. Michel also performed on the original Broadway cast recording as well as the live Tony awards telecast in NY.

Michel has also toured Europe, Canada and has performed his one man show in NY as well as on cruise ships all over the world.

Film credits include “Once Upon A Mattress” starring Carol Burnett, “Car 54” starring Rosie O’Donnell and the series “Queer As Folk”.

Michel has studied voice, dance and scene work in both Toronto and New York.
