Misha Bakshi

Moneesha “Misha” Bakshi (She/They/He) is a Bisexual, Bigender South Asian Actor working internationally. Best known for her performance as Penny on CBC/Cartoon Network’s HOP, Misha’s career spans from local theatre to international Television.  

Misha’s work on Bell Fibe’s Normal Scotia contributed to a Screen NS nomination for Best Series Ensemble, and they’ve contributed to inclusivity campaigns with the SAFER project, to help ease incidents of gender-based violence in schools across Canada. Misha has collaborated with theatrical directors such as Rob Kempson, Ann Marie Kerr, and Alistair Newton. As a voice actor, they have worked with beloved creator Marc Brown, and alongside voice talents such as Jonathan Sims, Tiana Camacho, and Marisa Duran. 

An Alumnus of the Fountain School of Performing Arts (Dalhousie U), Misha helped shape the inaugural Devised Project, where students from all across the Fountain School collaborate on an entirely original play.  

Growing up in East Tennessee as a queer South Asian person, Misha was shaped by seeing diversity in television that didn’t exist where he was growing up. This gave her a life-long passion for children’s media, and they strive to be a force of positive representation for today’s youth.
