Ryan Sherk

Ryan is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer from St.Catharines, Ontario with a very strong passion for the Arts. He is a student of The Juilliard School in New York City under the direction of Alicia Graf Mack and Mario Alberto Zambrano (2023-2025) and Melissa Toogood (2025-2027) as a part of their BFA Dance Program. During his time at Juilliard, he has performed repertoire including William Forsythe’s ‘Duo (extended 2025)’ and Alvin Ailey’s ‘Night Creature’. Additionally, he has performed in new works by Lauren Lovette, Jamar Roberts, My’kal Stromile, Jenn Freeman and Denys Drozdyuk. 

Ryan has trained with internationally acclaimed contemporary companies including Ballet BC and Ballets Jazz Montreal. He has also studied at Orsolina 28 in Italy where he worked closely with world-renowned choreographers Johan Inger and Medhi Walerski, and also studied the repertoire of Crystal Pite and Marco Goecke. Ryan is also a New York City Dance Alliance Foundation Scholar, led by Joe Lanteri, and made his debut at The Joyce Theater in New York City in the Spring of 2024 as a performer in the organization’s ‘Destiny Rising Concert ’. Ryan’s performance credits include the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony 2026, NBA Toronto Raptors, Mini Pop Kids (30 live shows across Canada), CHCH’s Tiny Talent Time, and Breakfast Television. Ryan’s choreography has received several awards and recognitions from prestigious competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix and ADC IBC. He also serves as an assistant to international master teacher Shannon Atkins at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. 

Prior to his post-secondary pursuits, Ryan trained extensively in contemporary, ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, and musical theatre as a Competitive Dancer for 12 years. Some of his top achievements included receiving 1st Place Pas De Deux at the Youth America Grand Prix, and being named ‘America’s Teen Dancer of the Year 2021’ and ‘America’s Senior Dancer of the Year 2023’ at the American Dance Awards National Championships, making him a two-time National Title Winner.
