Shannon Heron

ACTRA

Shannon Heron is a Toronto-based actor and dancer with a deep passion for storytelling. Her career has taken Shannon around the world, where she has trained and performed as both an actor and dancer. Most notably she has worked with Cirque du Soleil, and has worked on projects such as The Handmaid’s TaleY: The Last ManGay Mean GirlsGood WitchFeel the Beat, and BET. 

Her diverse dance training spans ballet, pointe, jazz, jazz theatre, tap, musical theatre, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and modern techniques including Graham, Limón, and Horton. As a child, she studied at The National Ballet School of Canada (NBS), earning certifications in the Cecchetti style of ballet, and later continued her training in Paris and Barcelona. In her teenage years, Shannon danced competitively, winning multiple awards and scholarships. During this time she studied classical ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, and completed multiple ballet examinations. She then attended the esteemed Joffrey Ballet School in New York City for a summer intensive which is where she was first introduced to the American dance scene. 

It was through her dance training that Shannon was introduced to acting. Through establishing characters in dance pieces, she discovered a love for emotional storytelling that naturally led her toward acting. She got a masterclass in physical acting when she worked with Cirque du Soleil at the age of 14 for the 2015 Pan Am Opening Ceremonies, which further fueled her passion. Shannon went on to train with The Second City Toronto for Improv, Armstrong Acting Studios, and LB Acting Studios for scene and on-camera work.  

In 2020, Shannon graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City with an Honours Certificate in the Dance Theatre Conservatory program. During her time at AMDA, she received extensive training in acting and singing. In 2025, Shannon graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) with a Honours in Bachelor of Arts from the RTA School of Media: Media Production program, with a concentration in film and television.  

Shannon believes that training and honing her craft is a lifelong pursuit. She continues to train weekly at Studio North, Metro Movement, The Underground Dance Centre, Liberty Dance, and with Ming Bo’s MING Movement Company. She also continues to expand her skills as an actor through ongoing training and scene study classes at LB Acting Studios. Shannon is eager, disciplined, and excited for what the future holds. She is passionate about continuing to grow in both dance and acting, striving to create work that connects movement and emotion in meaningful ways.
