Shaun’s training extends from the beginning days of his start at Douglas College (New Westminster) in the Theatre Program and then continuing his performance training at the University of British Columbia Bachelor of Fine Arts Program. Upon completion, Shaun found success in a educational children’s theatre group that toured British Columbia, as well as numerous live theatrical roles in the BC lower mainland area.
Shaun continued his education, this time branching off into the broadcasting and journalism world and attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology in the Radio Arts & Entertainment program, which led to his first job as a summer cruiser/spot producer for 100.1 Moose FM in Fort St. John, which led to the full-time host position in Revelstoke, BC. In 2016, Shaun was the recipient of an Achievement Award for creative conceptual campaign that involved the radio and the community and drew people together in a positive way as well as nominated at the BCAB Awards for the project.
Shaun had several commercial ad roles and a lead spot on Untold Stories of the ER, but his most prideful project was a short film entitled Working Class Heroes. His was written by Shaun and filmed in the Fall of 2013 starring Nicholas Lea, Tom McBeath and Tom Butler. The film made its debut on ShortsTV the following year.
This story was based on true events that took place at his father’s workplace and was one of the motivating factors to not only tell his father’s story, but to fight for a dream and honor the sacrifice one parent made so he could chase a dream.
Shaun currently is working regularly to keep his vocal skills sharp and challenging himself with coaches Larry Hudson from VOHEAVEN and Nancy Wolfson of BrainTrack Audio. His passion for voice over work and cinema led him to Grand Forks, BC where he continues to be the Morning Show Host for CKGF-102.3 Juice FM (Vista Radio) as well as own and operate the Historic Gem Theatre (The oldest theatre in British Columbia).
