Sophie Spurn
UBCP/ACTRA
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Sophie Spurn (she/her) has always felt a strong pull toward the arts since beginning dance at the age of three. As a dancer, actor and professional model, she is known for her versatility, blending her unique movement quality with refined precision and control. Her distinctive look sets her apart in the modelling industry, paired with an effortless comfort in front of the camera.
Following her high school graduation from The Edge School for Athletes in 2022, Sophie started her pre-professional dance journey at The CLI Conservatory as a part of the class of 2023. Under the mentorship of Teddy Forance, the program provided training from top industry professionals, deepening her passion and drive. The Conservatory provided several industry-like opportunities including dancing for camera,
live performance, assisting, and finding her voice as a choreographer. Succeeding this, she was employed with Royal Caribbean where she had the privilege of performing Voices, and The Effectors II: Crash and Burn, as well as building her aerial experience.
Sophie is now based in Vancouver, Canada, where she finds her passion fulfilled on a deeper level. She has appeared in Nickelodeon’s Hollywood Arts series, and Disney’s Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. She gained her first acting credit in the film Gone Viral, which was featured at the Crazy8s Film Festival in Vancouver. Sophie had the privilege of performing with Cirque du Soleil in an original production created for a high-profile international wedding. She has also explored life performance and tour work for artists Bryan Adams, Johnathan Chee Hymn Wong, and French Montana.
Sophie values the balance of her work and personal life, knowing that her art thrives when she nurtures who she is away from her career. She spends her free time doing puzzles, trivia, and finding spontaneous activities in Vancouver to attend with friends. Sophie aspires to use her creature-like movement to dance in horror and thriller movies, and to one day create as a choreographer and movement director in many mediums.
