EQUITY | CAEA

Emily Robertson is a proud Bluenoser – born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. Having trained at the Maritime Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Classical Voice for over a decade, Emily has spent most of her life on stage, singing, acting, dancing, and like most Maritimers – telling stories. In 2018, Emily graduated from Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program.

Emily made her TV debut when she was 16 years old, on CBC’s Over the Rainbow as a Top 20 “Dorothy” finalist. Since then, she hes been performing on stage throughout Canada – including roles such as “Anne Shirley” in Anne of Green Gables (Thousand Islands Playhouse, Gananoque) and “Little Red Riding Hood” in Into The Woods (Theatre Sheridan, Ontario) Emily has gone on to be a part of two Smile Theatre Touring productions (Toronto), as “Anne Shirley” in Lucy Maud, and Anne and “Suzie” in At the Hop. She has also performed at the Confederation Centre of the Arts, Capitol Theatre, and Neptune Theatre.

Most recently, Emily has brought her top notch organizational skills out to play – understudying “Maria Rainer” and “Liesl von Trapp” in the Sound of Music, and then understudying “Carole King,” “Betty” and “Marilyn” in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical – both with Drayton Entertainment.

For almost a year post-graduation, Emily moved to Shanghai, China to work with iMusical Theatre School to become the head Choreographer and Production Manager of the program. She had the opportunity to teach Tap and Jazz classes (for all ages – including Adult to Senior beginners), Acting/Scene Study classes, English/Grammar classes, and coached one-on-one Audition Preparation. Upon returning to Canada, she continued to coach students online for Music Theatre Programs all over the world.

Now residing in Toronto, you can find Emily teaching Reformer and Mat Pilates, working as a Certified Hair Stylist for Weddings, or anywhere near the water. Emily is more than ready to keep exploring her passion for storytelling all over the globe – whether it be on stage, or on screen.
