Mina Gorelick

Mina was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She is the daughter of filmmakers Mahsa Ghorbankarimi and Alexander Gorelick. Mina’s father is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Mina’s mother is Persian, originally from Iran. Mina grew up speaking a number of languages in a multicultural family of first-generation immigrants. She was raised with two religions at home, and identifies ethnically as biracial.

As an actress, Mina is known for her role in the thriller Luciferous, for which she received a “Special Jury Award: Exceptional Young Actress” at the Festival Internacional de Cine Fantastico de Torremolinos, in Spain.

In addition to acting, Mina is a singer-songwriter. From a young age, she studied dance and was immersed in musical Theatre. Mina was introduced to the entertainment industry when she was six. At the time, she voiced two Sesame Street short films.

Mina grew up in a family of filmmakers, constantly surrounded by talk of cinema, script-writing, and visual effects, learning from her parents, her grandparents who operated an animation studio, and from her aunts and uncles who are film directors.

Mina’s language of choice is English, but she is also fluent in Farsi. Additionally, she studied French and Russian in early childhood. Having been raised with friends and family from around the world, Mina has been exposed to many accents, and a wide repertoire of sounds, pronunciations and dialects. As a result, she developed a keen ability for vocal articulation and the ability to learn and reproduce accents.

Mina grew up in a judgment-free atmosphere. She believes people have a right to freedom, to choose their path in life, and to peacefully live and let live. Mina loves to travel and has visited many countries throughout the world.

She is a member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada.
