Julia Harnett

Julia Harnett (she/her) is a dynamic actor, singer, and dancer, who began performing at the age of four. Her early training was rooted in ballet (Royal Academy of Dance), before expanding into jazz, Scottish Highland dance, contemporary, and competitive dancesport (ballroom and Latin).

A natural storyteller, Julia was heavily involved in both her high school’s drama department and her local theatre community before going on to perform professionally across Canada and the United States. Her stage credits include principal and ensemble roles in West Side Story (LA Opera), Guys & Dolls (The Kennedy Center), Chicago (The Fulton Theatre), A Christmas Story (Center Theatre Group), Cabaret (Barrington Stage Company), and In the Heights (Arts Club Theatre).

Julia’s transition to film and television began with national commercial campaigns as both a principal actor and dancer for brands including Glade, Hershey’s, Scotiabank, Lexus, Nikon, Party City, Del Taco, and Time Warner Cable (Spectrum). Since then, she has built an extensive screen résumé with principal, recurring, and supporting roles in acclaimed television series and films including Schmigadoon! (Apple TV+), Billions (Showtime), The Flight Attendant (HBOMax), Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist (NBC), The Crew (Netflix), Power (Starz), FBI (CBS), The Other Two (HBOMax), Supergirl (The CW), Tommy (CBS), Psych (USA), Holiday Spin (Lifetime), Christmas Waltz (Hallmark), and the feature film In the Heights (Warner Bros.) Most recently, she appeared in Robin Roberts Presents: I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story (Lifetime).

Julia is also passionate about independent filmmaking, with one of her favorite roles being the lead in The Letter Carrier, the award-winning directorial debut from Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order, The Flash) and Rick Cosnett (Quantico, The Flash).

Beyond acting, Julia has built an impressive career as a choreographer, with credits including Spinning Gold, The Vince Staples Show, Jett, Frankie Drake Mysteries, and Once Upon a Time, bringing her lifelong love of movement full circle.

A proud dual citizen of Canada and the United States, Julia enjoys working on both sides of the border and continues to expand her career both in front of and behind the camera. She can next be seen starring as “Nicole” in the upcoming Lifetime film, Hunger, as well as sharing the stage this fall at the LA Opera with Patti Lupone in Candide.
