Suzanne Ouellette

Suzanne Ouellette is well-known in the Canadian dance and theatre community, having performed on stage and screen as an actor, dancer and singer for over 30 years. She is a master ballet teacher, a stretch and body conditioner for dancers and actors, as well as an established choreographer in ballet and musical theatre.
Her lengthy career began in Europe where she pursued her artistic development with some of the world’s finest ballet companies. She began training in Portugal with Anna-Marie Holmes, then in London, England’s at The Dance Centre, and then moved on to Germany’s Stuttgart Ballet, and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, finally landing with Vancouver’s Ballet British Columbia, where she became their ballet mistress and rehearsal director.
Recognized as a strong dancer endowed with a fine sense of theatricality, Suzanne went on to theatre school to train as an actor. She performed in numerous musicals at Rainbow Stage, Stage West Theatre, Theatre Under The Stars, and toured Canada in the role of Connie for the first Canadian production of A Chorus Line.
In film and television, Suzanne’s on-screen credits include The Beachcombers (CBC), iZombie (The CW), Crimetime Mysteries (Hallmark), Motherland: Fort Salem (Freeform), Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (Paramount+), Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas (Roku), The Last of Us- Season 2, and Starstruck: A Cinderella Story (HBO), as well as numerous commercials. Most recently, she appeared in Mina Shum’s film Whatcha Want, releasing in late 2026.
As a choreographer, Suzanne has worked for CBC, WBTV’s My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star with Oliver Hudson, and the film Frankie and Hazel, starring Mischa Barton and Joan Plowright. She has contributed creatively for numerous fashion shows, artistic programs for Olympic level ice skaters, and international ballet competitors. Her choreography for theatre includes Royal City Musical Theatre, UBC Opera, Vancouver Opera, Richmond Gateway Theatre, Metro Theatre and the Arts Club Theatre. Suzanne is the recipient of the 2016 Ovation and the 2019 CTC Award for Outstanding Choreography, the Ovation Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement 2025, and the Award for Long term Contribution to the Arts in Vancouver.
Suzanne continues to share her passion and enthusiasm for the performing arts, working with many professional companies and studios as a master teacher, rehearsal director, and choreographer, as well as adjudicating dance competitions in classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary, stage and musical theatre.
