Brett Williams

Originally from Blackpool, England, Brett Williams moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with his family at a very young age.  There he participated in theatre for much of his life. He got his start by acting out his favourite superhero movies with his little brother in the living room, eventually going on to graduate from MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts program. 

Brett then decided to move to Vancouver and further his education at Capilano University’s Musical Theatre Program, graduating with distinction in 2024.  While at school he landed his first west coast lead as Percy Jackson in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical with CTORA. Since then, Brett has played SpongeBob SquarePants in The SpongeBob Musical (CapU) for which he received the Ovation Award for Outstanding Performance in a Lead Role.

Brett has been welcomed into the Vancouver community alongside incredible artists in productions such as We Will Rock You! (Theatre Under the Stars); 9 to 5 (Royal City Musical Theatre), Heathers (Sherwood Theatre); Carrie: The Musical, and Cabaret (CapU).

Most recently Brett received the award for Outstanding Lead Performance (18-24) at the Canada Young Theatre Awards for the 2nd time consecutively, and is so excited to be returning to Theatre Under the Stars as Aaron Schultz in Legally Blonde.

Brett is an eager actor in the industry who’s unwavering passion for storytelling drives him to adapt to anything that comes his way. When he’s not acting you can most likely find Brett reading comic books or hanging out with his extremely supportive friends and family.
