Yohance ‘Yonce’ Guthrie

Yohance, also known as ‘Yonce’, is a Toronto-based dancer and choreographer who charismatically brings an energy to any and every battle, performance and showcase he participates in. Born into a Jamaican immigrant household of drama, music and dance educators, his creative and literal background have been riddled with inspiration from the arts at an early age. Familiar with Caribbean and Afro-styles Yonce has since specialized in hip-hop, locking, house and breaking to work across the city to bring the joy of dance with him wherever he goes.

The enthusiasm fostered in his youth for dance when first starting his dance journey has propelled him to work with the likes of Toronto talent like TOBi, Haviah Mighty, B2K at OVO Fest as some highlights and on sets like that of Disney’s Sneakerella. Having trained under the likes of Tré Armstrong, and Tony Tzar, Yohance’s hunger specializing in his talents continues in his work as well as his training with teams such as Footnotes with Andrew “Pyro” Chung.

Yonce’s love and commitment to dance, artistry and the collaborative process of
